Here's what that means in practice.

What can you report?

Anything that affects your neighborhood, your community, or your daily life — road closures, local events, public safety alerts, community announcements, local business news, and stories that matter to the people around you.

It can be serious or fun. You can highlight a local issue, or report on your village fair or neighborhood sports match.

What you cannot report, and if you do, we will not publish

  • Violenceno content that threatens, glorifies, or incites harm to any person or group

  • Hate speechno content that attacks people based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, nationality, or sexual orientation

  • Nudity or sexual contentof any kind

  • Images or video of childrenwithout written permission from a parent or guardian

  • Unverified accusationsif you're reporting wrongdoing, the person or organization you're naming has the right to respond. As a good reporter, try to get their perspective and include their contact number or email in your story so that our editors can cross check. It will help your story get published faster.

  • AI-generated mediaall photos and videos must be real and unaltered

  • Misinformation or Disinformationdo not knowingly post false information

What happens if you break these rules

Your post will be removed. Depending on the severity, your account may be suspended or permanently banned.

When in doubt, ask yourself:

Would I be comfortable if my name were attached to this story? Would my neighbors trust it?

If yes — upload it. If not — don't.
